Charlotte EpiCenter Creditors Select Dennis O'Dea As Creditors Committee Counsel
The Creditors' Committee appointed to represent the general creditors of the Charlotte EpiCenter, a major multiuse development in the heart of Charlotte, NC. The EpiCenter sought bankruptcy protection when it faced imminent foreclosure of the prime mortgage held by Regions Bank. The project has a new lender replacing Regions Bank and hopes to emerge from bankrupcy in the first quarter of 2011. An essential requirement of any plan of reorganization that will succeed for the EpiCenter is the agreement of its creditors to the terms of its reorganization. The Creditors' Committee is the primary repesentative of general creditors in negotiating the reorganization terms with the EpiCenter.
Equity Receiverships have returned as a valuable resource for companies facing internal conflict and the need to restructure. In his July 2010 Report , Dennis O'Dea discusses his engagement as the Receiver for the Laotian Culture Center of North Carolina.
